Details of the organization activities

Here are the social activities driven by Tarhuk Samaj for the development & welfare of people.

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV)

At present the Society is running 150 borders residential Girls School Kastuba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Damin Kurung Kumey District Arunachal Pradesh under Sarva Shiksa Abhiyan Rajya Mission Itanagar, grant-in-aid given by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Education, Govt. of India since 2008-2009.

Koloriang Cane & Bamboo Handicrafts Cluster

The Society is running one Cane & Bamboo Handicrafts Cluster at Koloriang under A.H.V.Y grant- in-aid scheme of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Ministry of Textiles Govt. of India, since last three years. Under this Cluster we have 213 Artisans which are covered under the AHVY Scheme and the Society has formed 10 (ten) Self Help Group.

Running of STEP Project

The society is implementing project under Support to Training and Employment Program (STEP) for development of SMALL DAIRY UNITES IE BUFFALOW for poor and Assetless women for SC/ST ,NT,OBC beneficiaries from the Ministry of Social Welfare Department, Govt. of India since 2013-14 for 200 poor tribal women beneficiaries at Damin.

Community Radio Station

The Society is running the first Community Radio Station of Arunachal Pradesh namely RadioCity Itanagar 90.8FM from Tolum Namchang Rakap Colony Naharalagun.

Self Help Group (SHGs)

Society has formed 10 (ten) SHG in the state respectively and is function normally as per the guidelines of self help group and has organized many programmes in the past.

Other Activities

As the part of social campaign the Society has construct Community-cum-Cultural Hall at Koipla grant-in-aid funded by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
